Therapeutic Touch

Therapeutic Touch (TT) is an alternative method of healing which involves the transference of positive energy from the healer to the patient. In a typical session, the energy healer or healers place their hands over the patient to bring about a positive “chi” or “prana” flow. TT practitioners believe that there is a “life energy field” which engulfs all living things. When this “life energy field” is unbalanced or out of tune, people succumb to illnesses. Energy healers can help to correct this imbalance by transferring their life energy to the patients, resulting in a harmonious state, which sets off the healing process. Also known as Distance Healing, TT was developed in the early 1970s by theosophist nurse Dr. Dolores Krieger and then president of the Theosophical Society of America, Dora Kunz. Krieger maintains that TT is derived from ancient healing methods, primarily, the laying on of hands, but not related to faith healing. In successful TT sessions, it’s the patients who heal themselves as their life energy fields are restored, with a little help from the energy healers. Here’s more information on TT.
